STORIES

overcoming the enemy by the blood of the lamb and the power of testimony

I am so grateful for Wildfire Encounter. It sparked a real, intimate relationship between me and Jesus. Since that weekend, I’ve slept with my prayer cloth, spent time in the prayer room, and fully surrendered my heart to Him.

Gwen

I haven’t had a single suicidal thought since. God didn’t just take away the suicidal thoughts—He set me free from everything else, too.  He took away my addictions to drinking, smoking, and pornography. I had struggled with drinking on and off for about three years, but I haven’t had a single urge since. At first, I kept to myself during the revival. I didn’t go up to the altar much; I just sat in my seat and prayed, “Jesus, if You’re here, cover me in Your love—I need Your help.” And He answered.

Before Wildfire Encounter, I used to have trouble with my vision for as long as I could remember. Everything was blurry, and I had to wear glasses just to see clearly. Without them, the world around me was nothing but a haze. But that wasn’t the only thing I struggled with. I had a bad attitude—I argued with my mom and dad all the time, and I found myself yelling at people for no reason.  Then that night, I gave my life to Jesus.

As I stood there, eyes closed, surrendering everything to Him, I could feel something shifting inside me. It was like a weight was being lifted off my chest, and for the first time, peace filled my heart. And then, when I opened my eyes—everything was different.

I’m so grateful for what you all have done for me and for everyone here. The hunger for God was so strong in the people, and it was amazing to praise God freely, to dance with joy, and to experience the event in such a powerful way.

God is so cool, and I truly appreciate everything you’ve done. I love you all!

I had been smoking since I was around 7 or 8 years old. For most of my life, I was a heavy smoker—two packs a day. Day and night, my life revolved around cigarettes. The first thing in the morning, the last thing before bed, even waking up at all hours just to smoke. If I went too long without one, my temper would flare—I would snap at people and lash out.

I had tried everything to quit. Medicine, patches, prayer lines—nothing worked. I was fighting in my own strength, and I kept failing. But when I finally let go and let God take over, He broke that lifelong addiction in an instant.

I give God all the praise! He did what I never could on my own.

Dorothy

This weekend was life-changing. It helped me to forgive those from my past and truly let go of the pain. I also found a deeper, more intimate relationship with God. I know that, with time, I will become more comfortable sharing what God has done for me and what He continues to do in my life.

I’m so excited to be building a better relationship with God today. The experience also taught me the importance of humility and patience in my walk with Him.
